We love beer! I mean, who doesn’t love beer? When we found out that April is NC Craft Beer Month we decided that we should do a special episode. Not just any special with sparkles and shiny stuff, but a really special episode. We thought ‘Hey, lets make this episode twice as long!’ and if that wasn’t enough, we said ‘Hey, lets take our show on the road for the first time!’ So we did. We decided to visit 4 breweries. Now, narrowing that list down was not easy, I mean we have, what, 20 breweries here in Charlotte alone? And we love them all! While we could have talked to other brewers and breweries, we think these four are great representations of 4 NC breweries doing it right. One took 5 years to perfect their beer before opening shop, one won a Gold medal at the Great American Beer Fesitval in their first 9 months of being open, one is personally responsible for changing some of the antiquated brewing laws and one is growing so fast, they are slowing down to make sure they can keep up their quality and their core business happy. And as if this isn’t enough, there is going to be a big party at the next viewing party. On April 3rd at 1pm at Free Range Brewing, we get going with a happy hour. There will be beer from all 4 breweries available and on tap at Free Range and the brewers will be there, too! About 2pm or so we will show the 1 hour-long episode with a ten minute (you gotta refill those beers!) intermission. And following the viewing there will be a whole hog pig pickin’! There will be side dishes donated from many area chefs and culinary folks. There will be a donation jar (suggested donations of $10) and all the proceeds will be donated to Farm Hands!
